Got an £85 fine for overstaying at a retail outlet by 19 minutes.
Ironically, in those 19 minutes I was queuing in one of the shops.
Had I just gone straight back to my car, I'd have been fine.
I appealed with my receipt of purchase as a customer but was told it was rejected and I would have to appeal to POPLA.
If I agree to pay now they will reduce it to £50
If I insist on appealing and lose, it will be the full amount.
Case studies on POPLA make no mention of being a customer having any sway.
No ombudsman available.
Would you just pay in these circumstances?
