Cherbourg

Can anyone tell me if Cherbourg town centre is worth a visit before we take the ferry home next week? Is it easy to find parking? We have already visited Cite de la Mer! (Of course we may not make it that far if the strikes continue to disrupt travel).

My knowledge is literally a decade out of date, but I remember Chateau des Ravalet just outside the town being quite interesting and some nice seafood restaurants. I wouldn’t actively choose it as a destination but it was nice enough to kill a few hours if you have them. Parking didn’t seem an issue from recall. As a ferry port I imagine most visitors will have a car so they’ll been to accommodate that.

Thank you, I'll look it up. It is just somewhere to go but still be close for the ferry!

@ComtesseDeSpair I came back to thank you for recommending Chateau des Ravalets. It was absolutely beautiful and almost deserted! Helped by beautiful weather, we spent a very happy couple of hours there.
