A few hours later, having dashed back from a weekend away, I was sitting with him while he packed away steak and kidney pie and veg, steamed pudding and custard!
According to staff at his nursing home, this morning he was completely unresponsive with his face dropping to the right. They couldn't rouse him at all. Just before I arrived a few hours later, he woke up, his face had returned to normal and he had no other signs of stroke. Staff were astonished and frankly a bit bewildered. Could this have been a TIA? Or something else? I think the face droop could be a red herring as his face always drops a bit to the side when he sleeps. But the unresponsiveness is obviously worrying.
