Yet another Vinted question- This can't be right, can it?..

Hi,

So I received a pair of light trousers which were described as very good condition, but arrived covered in stains. Not an exaggeration. Small hole in crotch too 👍 I immediately took photos and sent them to the seller, along with a message explaining how I was obviously unhappy, as this was not mentioned anywhere in the ad and that I would not expect to pay for postage if she wanted the trousers returning. Heard absolutely nothing from the seller and it's been several days. Raised it with Vinted customer services and explained my concerns regarding postage payments and was told I would have to pay, regardless of the condition of the item as I agreed to the terms and conditions.

Erm ???? How on earth is this right? I have been completely mis led, so why on earth should I pay for any postage and packing? I have been given a faulty item. Customer service went on to say if I "didn't want to pay for this, it's up to the seller to decide if they would maybe split it with me". It's just mad! The ball is in their court? How?

Somebody tell me this isn't right....

When the item arrived did you mark you had a problem with it?

Moltenpink · 27/03/2023 17:54

I’ve also had this. Received an item so far as not described that it was laughable, had to pay to return. Makes you wonder what the protection fee actually does!

Yetanothernc99 · 27/03/2023 17:59

@Ellewoods20 Yes, immediately.

@Moltenpink Exactly! I did ask Vinted, but they haven't answered that.

Rightly or wrongly (the latter in this case) the cost of return postage falls to the buyer. All you can do is leave a bad review, which you'll no doubt get back!

I’ve sold a lot of Vinted and unfortunately that’s the policy. The protection is if the item doesn’t turn up (which happened once to me as a buyer) but if anything is wrong then the postage is to be paid by the buyer which is rubbish BUT it is the policy and it’s in their terms, when I queried it with Vinted they basically said if I didn’t like it it was tough

Christmascracker0 · 27/03/2023 18:23

It is quite clear in the Ts & Cs. It’s part of the reason I don’t bother with Vinted anymore!

Yes thought this was well known. I only buy cheap Things on there because of this, bought a dress for dd and the zip was broke didn’t even bother sending it back
