What could this be and is it serious?

I have noticed for a while now that I have a patch of skin (flesh?) that is quite numb. It's roughly the size of a credit card and is on the groin/panty line area right between my crotch and right thigh. So it would be my inner right thigh if it wasn't basically on the top of my leg where my leg meets my body. I test it by scratching my fingers along and there's a definite patch where I can't feel it.

I've never worried about it before but have just realised it's probably not that normal and am wondering what it could be. Does anyone have similar?

Don't know if it's serious or not but I have a couple of patches like this. One on my toe, and the palm of one hand when I rub it over things it's completely numb.

I have a similar patch on my outer right thigh, just above my knee. Have had it for years, I saw a doctor about it who said it was probably a nerve issue.

Thanks, glad it's not just me! I tried to google it but it's actually kind of vague, I read about something called meralgia parasthetica. Sorry this is probably the most boring thread ever!

I just read one study that mentioned severe disability if untreated and was like, ??what!!

Most UK sources seem to say it just either goes away or stays numb.
