In your opinion.

One big day trip out a week, like a real treat day out, or a little holiday in the UK?

Single mum to two so hands are very full 🙈

I would say a day trip once a week.

Holiday

It depends on the age of the kids. Very young - day trips. Older - holiday.

Holiday...just the sleeping somewhere else is exciting for my DC.

Surely a UK based holiday for a week is cheaper than 5 'big' days out.......

Once on holiday we don't need to spend a lot....pick somewhere with some interesting things to do - sight seeing, museums, gallery, beach, parks etc Maybe a pool on site. Self catering so cheapish food....

Marchforward · 26/03/2023 22:09

How old are the kids?

yoshiblue · 26/03/2023 22:18

One week away, you can still do day trips locally for the rest of the holidays - we enjoy going to different parks over the Summer, playing tennis at the park etc

Watching with interest. Same boat here. My children are 7 and 8. I live in a tourist area and we haven't done everything around here yet but I was thinking of a combination of the two so instead of a holiday a mini break somewhere a few hours away and a couple of theme park trips.

But on the other hand I could take them to the med in October half term for that so I can't decide either!

Holiday, our dc remember holidays in general more than days out.

Alternatively maybe a long weekend away and then some days out?
