A good book to help someone recognise artists from their paintings?

We were out with friends recently. conversation turned to University Challenge and how wide reaching the students' knowledge is. Friends were saying the one topic they know next to nothing about is art, and how they wished they could look at a painting and have a decent stab at who the artist was. They have a significant anniversary coming up, and I suggested to DH that we see if we can find a book that would help them with this. Before I go down the rabbit hole that is google, I thought I'd ask if anyone has such a book?
Thank you.

Used to work at the National Gallery and was given a book like this in my first week; think it's called "100 Great Paintings" and gives a really good overview of style etc - there are loads of similar books in their online shop.
