Can anyone help me figure out what's wrong with my sons feet? *pic*

He is 4.

He has been complaining of pain on the soles of his feet for about 2 weeks. He walks on the sides of his feet because of the pain.

Today he pointed to where it hurts and it's just below his small toe and just below his big toe.

At those points there is a red mark and that red mark is hot to touch (unlike the rest of his foot which is cool to the touch).

It doesn't look like the rumblings of varucca's from previous experience. And I checked the inside of his shoes which are smooth and bump free, they are just some Clark's trainers which still fit well.

Im going to buy him some new shoes today just to be on the safe side. But can anyone help identify the issue?

Anything hot to touch should be checked out by a Dr to rule out/consider infection. See your GP Monday

You need to take him to see a doctor. The left foot is swollen and the redness and heat suggests inflammation or infection. There could be an inflammatory arthritis . Needs checking out.

Does he walk around bare footed a lot? Could be a couple of splinters or tiny bits of glass etc which have embedded. I would soak in warm water and have a look with a torch to check whether there’s a sign of anything being stuck in there.

Do take him to the doctor, but I would also look at wider more anatomically shaped shoes for his feet, which are quite wide with a good splay which will probably be restricted in mainstream shoes. Have a look at Happy Little Soles for shoes for him.

He needs to be seen by the gp or a podiatrist, could be bursitis but I am not a medical professional.

I'd check him all over for a rash and in his mouth as well just to rule out hand, foot, mouth.

Could be as simple as a hair stuck inside. He should go doctors to be checked

I had something similar when I had a pair of socks that were too big, and they rubbed.
