Pretty much that
He knows I'm going on holiday next week through stupid friend of mine
He has done some horrible things to me in the past (maliciously report me to benefit fraud ) the list goes on
I only renewed last year
I'm so scared he will do it and ruin my holiday

He knows all my info name /dob/place of birth etc
Do you think I'm worried for nothing?
My friend cancelled a passport last year and they rang her before cancelling it
So I'm hoping that would happen and I could say it was false etc

I know I must sound neurotic but I know the things he is capable off

It isn’t possible for him to cancel your passport if it is in your possession.

JFDIYOLO · 26/03/2023 09:25

It's possible to cancel a passport online if you have all info. I'd say phone the Passport Office and explain your situation and get them to put notes on your record stating they must phone you if they receive a cancellation.

And keep an eye on your 'friend' - who can't be trusted. Have a lovely holiday .

Would he need my email address ?
I don't think he knows that

Does he know your passport number?

turntheteleoff · 26/03/2023 09:36

No he doesn't know my passport number /possibly not mobile number anymore or email address

When my friend reported online
She received a phone call the next day and also a text /email saying it was cancelled
So hopefully it will be okay

Do you off the top of your head? I'm sure someone determined could do it without the passport number

turntheteleoff · 26/03/2023 09:39

If he had cancelled it I would of received some notification wouldn't i?

Agree.

If you report your passport lost or stolen you don't need the passport number. Ds's got lost in the post on the way to the passport office recently. I just needed his full name, address and date of birth. The next thing I heard was an email to say it was cancelled and a reference number. They didn't email me to confirm I wanted it cancelled.

I would call the passport office op and see if I could do something to prevent malicious cancelling.

Thoughtful2355 · 26/03/2023 10:02

I would phone the passport office and Tell them your worries they may be able to put a note on it to say not to cancel the passport without checking etc etc

turntheteleoff · 26/03/2023 10:07

I go tomorrow so don't think it's open today
I hope im just worrying about nothing
I haven't had a email or anything or letter to say it's been cancelled or anything

The advice line is open 7 days a week.

Chrissyxxxx · 14/07/2023 06:34

Yes it can be cancelled, it’s just happened to me done maliciously,

LisaFB · 18/09/2023 13:51

Me too! I got turned away from Croatia yesterday. The person used an incorrect email and phone number too. How it was ever cancelled I don’t know! I hope yours wasn’t someone called Andrew ☹️ I’ve never heard of it before
