Sophisticated cat scratchers for the lounge?

I'm trying to spruce up my lounge, which means I need to protect new sofa from rhe cat. Realistically, the only way to do that is to put a scratch post right next to it. If you have a scratch post that is relatively smart and sophisticated ("relatively" being the operative word here) please can you post a pic and tell me where you got it?

I found a lovely one on Groupon, believe or not. Light grey and simple lines.

I bet you the cat will still go for the sofa.

Nope. It will be fully defended by the (hopefully sophisticated) cat scratcher and a (definitely sophisticated) side table.

If you want to splurge have a look at Omlet's cat range...

I got the 'smart cat ultimate scratching post' from amazon, the cats love it and use it all the time, and I've had it a few months and it's showing absolutely no signs of wear yet!

The best cat scratchers are those cardboard trays. They love 'em and they're cheap

zooplus flower ones look ok.

Just an XL post with no beds on top is the most appealing to scratch though, so they can stretch up high. Too many cat trees have boxes and platforms that get in the way of the cat getting to a nice tall post.

We have this one from Petsathome made out of all natural products and it's saved our settee just in time.
