Scams?

I've had 2 texts this week telling me I've missed a delivery but not what it's for.

One from royal mail and one from Evri.

Are these dodgy? Why wouldn't they just tell you what it is they are trying to deliver?

They’re not real. The number is most likely a +44 number whereas when you get a text from an official company the name of the sender will say ‘RoyalMail’ or ‘Evri.’

The texts usually say, ‘you’ve missed your delivery, please click on the link to reschedule’ or ‘we were unable to deliver your package, please amend your payment details to get this package sent out again.’

Don’t click on the link, or respond. Just ignore, it’s not legit

I suppose we can’t say they’re truly dodgy because you might be expecting a delivery.

but they are well known methods of scamming.

if you’re ever curious, put your phone into airplane mode and click on the link.
when the phone opens the browser , you should be able to see the url the browser is being told to go to.

if it in ANY WAY looks not right close the browser and delete the text before disabling airplane mode.

A definite scam just ignore and don't click on the link,are you expecting a delivery if you are and not at home they will leave a card for you.

Shit I looked at the link. Will i have i virus on my phone now?

Did they want you to pay a fee? That's the scam part; where you pay them money

I didn't put any details in. At all.

Yes the Royal Mail one wanted £1.45

The evri one said they failed to deliver.
