Skin cancer worries

I have a kind of raised spot above my lip which is a bit sore, and it used to look like a mole below on my jawline but now looks like more of a raised bump (see both moles in the attached pic).

I'm a bit worried as it seems to have had what I thought was a whitehead above the original mole, which then had changed to the raised bump. I can't really see the small brown mole there now, it's more a bit of a raised pink bump.

Any thoughts or am I being overly worried?

I’d get it checked to be on the safe side.

Yes, definitely get it looked at by a medical professional. It does look a bit like a dermatofibroma to me, but I think they usually appear on limbs, not faces.

I'm not a medical professional, by the way, so do get it properly looked at, to be on the safe side.

Get it checked out OP.

Just go to your GP

A change from a normal pigmented mole to that isn't really typical of the kinds of changes you get to a mole with cancer. If this were me I'd think (NB I am NOT a doctor) this is a new spot (of whatever kind) that happens to have come up on the site of the mole. But absolutely get it checked out, sooner rather than later. Is the change recent?

I completed an online consult form to my gp and put "dodgy mole" as the reason. I had a phone call within an hour offering me an appointment the next day. Doctor I saw was very reassuring but made a referral to dermatology with photo of said dodgy mole. I had a call within a week to say they didn't want to take it further. All very simple and quick

Quite recently, although I remember it happened before then healed over. But it always seems to have a bit of a whitehead on top of that mole above it that would come and go.

I’d get it seen by the gp or a specialist and enquire about treatment to get rid of it. Whatever it is. So it can’t come back and morph into something bad.
