How do you stop yourself getting ill?

So have started working in a school in February, have had on and off colds since then, 9 days ago I caught covid, and now I think I may have a chest infection as coughing yellow mucus up! Any tips so that I don't keep getting ill? Thanks

I always use Vicks First Defence at the first sign of any 'I'm about to get ill' feeling at the back of my throat. Usually reduces the severity compared to people around me by 60-80%.

Just ride it out OP. Your immune system is gaining strength all the time and soon you will be immune and fight off the infections.

Don't touch your face.
Apply a thin smear of vaseline around your nostrils.

Vitamin D
Vitamin C
B vitamins
Propylis and sometimes echinacea (though you're meant to take it before you get ill)
Also probiotics

You'll stop getting ill in about 5 years time (sorry!) If you are with the children.

I've been a TA for 20 years now so rarely catch anything (bar Covid) but it's always the same for new staff.. our new TAs and NQTs are constantly ill for a few years til their immune systems have got used to all the wonderful lurgies that the children pass around! Winter tends to be the worst, and when we come back after the summer break!

Probiotics, multivitamins and just time - each little cold you get will make your immune system stronger too. I've been working with small children for years and I havent had a tummy bug in decades, colds are very rare but when I feel something coming I use a First Defence nasal spray. It's hard but you will get there!
