How to separate steamer and saucepan

Our expensive le creuset steamer is stuck, hard, in a saucepan. We've tried all the usual things, heating the pan and cooling the steamer, oil, shouting at it, it won't budge.

Is there a clever trick we are missing? It's so frustrating!

Asked in nicely?
Have you poured oil in for lubrication to help when you yank it, can a blunt knife be wiggled in?

Have you tried heating up the whole thing? Sharp knock to the side? Can we get a picture?

I heard Windex unsticks stacks of glasses that stick together.

Drop it on the floor. Worked for me, but mine was only stainless steel - you might need new flooring with a Le Creuset!

You need a fish slice and lube, OP.
'Tis a gem from eons ago. Smile
