What household eco products do you use & love?

Started the switch with Smol multi-purpose spray and dishwasher tabs but not loving their laundry tabs. Ideally want to switch bathroom, laundry and handsoap (I've seen raindrops but seems expensive).

What do you use and love that's more eco (to me that means less harmful/toxic ingredients and not tested on animals but actually works for you). And also we use bleach for the toilet and I'd love to move away from that but unsure what else would clean dirty boys stains properly.

I gave up and went back to Harpic but the two most effective eco loo cleaners I've used are Delphis and Ecozone. Delphis is good but it's very expensive. Ecozone is priced more like your standard Harpic/Domestos/Duck etc. and you can get it in supermarkets.

I buy big five litre bottles of things like washing up liquid and body wash, minml or ecover. Have always just used powder for washing clothes. Ecover is good too, but often just use supermarket own brands.
Minml also do a great toilet cleaner, but mostly I use washing up liquid, unless there is limescale which requires vinegar.

Oh one other thing I use which is good is French Marseille black soap. I buy the liquid. No solvents, dyes or preservatives. It's a handy all-purpose cleaner; it degreases and gets stains out too (I dab a tiny bit on DH's white sweaters when he drips coffee down them). I use it diluted to clean the floor and surfaces. Apparently it's also an insecticide, and you can wash your dog with it, but I haven't tested either of those things!

Bio d great, much better than Ecover, bought out by nestle I think, or lever)
Not in uk supermarkets (online or health food shops), no nasty colours and great products, made in Hull

I buy a 5l container of Ecover dish liquid and dilute for use in an old Method spray bottle to clean anything and everything around the house. Also 5l container of their laundry liquid and these are the only detergent products I buy. I make melt and pour soap or use liquid castillo as a base for washing hands.

The Method clementine spray for the kitchen.

Bramshott · 24/03/2023 16:20

The Iron & Velvet refill sachets are good - especially the kitchen antibac one.

Rebel2 · 24/03/2023 16:21

Method daily shower spray is great

APurpleSquirrel · 24/03/2023 16:28

I use Ecover Powder, Liquid & Conditioner.
Tried their toilet stuff but wasn't keen, so back with Harpic.
For soap - I only use cold process soap - I make my own & buy from small scale makers too. Much better than commercial stuff as long as you familiarise yourself with the ingredients.

I buy big 5l bottles of ecover all purpose cleaner and dilute into spray bottles for surfaces, bathrooms etc and also for mopping the floors.

I like Splosh for concentrated hand wash, washing up liquid and shower gel, which you just dilute into reusable bottles.

Method bathroom cleaner.

Seaswimmer23 · 05/09/2023 17:38

Use an expect for laundry (unless it’s really stinky)

Cakeonthefloor · 05/09/2023 18:29

I use splosh and I think they are great.
