Any medication you need/prescribed
All electronics and chargers
Headphones if you use phones/tablets during the flight
Something to do during flight be it books, downloaded music/movies or audiobooks, anything you think will keep them from being bored
All paperwork for whatever you booked
Some snacks
Favourite teddy, blanket or whatever they can't sleep without

Do you have any small children? I would take a change of clothes in case of accidents/spills. If any are still in nappies, take more than you think you need, we were delayed for 3 hours once.

Valium

LilyMyOneAndOnly · 24/03/2023 17:07

Anything you couldn't replace if your checked luggage is lost - for me it's my glasses, contact lenses, jewellery, retainers.

Lots of snacks, my boy likes polo mints.. they last forever!

LilyMyOneAndOnly · 24/03/2023 17:09

Oh and paracetamol (for me) and Calpol sachets (for him) - never needed them but often hand them out to others in need!!

Face masks if wanted/required

Empty water bottles to fill up after security
Lip balm

Hand sanitizer

Entertainment for the kids (iPads etc)
Possibly spare clothes and wet wipes depending on the age of the DCs
Anything else essential that you couldn't easily replace if the hold luggage was lost

ReluctantBrit has a good list, but id dump the chargers, and substitute with a clean teeshirt and pair of knickers.

DelurkingAJ · 24/03/2023 18:39

A change of clothes each in case your luggage goes AWOL or someone throws up (probably over someone else).

MerryMarigold · 24/03/2023 18:47

Snacks and entertainment with a new stash for half way through the journey (particularly if no food or entertainment on flight)
Passports, tickets, money, credit cards.
Sunglasses

DelphiniumBlue · 24/03/2023 19:01

Each child to have their own backpack, containing some sort of entertainment, and a complete change of clothes and a snack, also an empty water bottle to fill up once you have gone through. Each adult to also have a change of clothes, entertainment, kitchen roll, snacks, wet wipes, chargers, and a photo of the DC taken that day. I used to put all mine in similar clothes in bright colours, eg red or orange polo shirt, so that if one got lost, you can easily spot them! If you've got girls, big bright ribbons too.

Swimming costume. If main luggage gets lost , you will still be able to have a swim. I’m plus size and would probably struggle to find a cossie that fits in some small beach resorts!

I would take at least 1-2 chargers. Nothing worse than phones dying because you lost your hold luggage.

But yes, T-shirt and knickers are good additions as well.
