Morrisby Test

Has anyone got any experience of these tests? I'd never heard of them but saw them mentioned on another thread. My DS has no clue what to do when he leaves school and wondered if it might be worth doing one of these tests.

My DD did one so I’ve seen the output - it’s not too far off the test you can do on .gov site if he wants to try that first and see whether it steers him in one direction or not? https://nationalcareers.service.gov.uk/discover-your-skills-and-careers/

Yes my son did this. It also includes a 30
minute interview with a careers advisor after the questions are answered. Son found it really helpful.

I did one when I was at school! So almost 20 years ago. They're much much better than the equivalent tests on government or careers sites. They're more detailed and for me, suggested much more appropriate careers.

I had no idea what I wanted to do, didn't pay much attention to the morrisby results at the time. I came across my results a few years ago - they suggested three careers for me and without having taken those into account, I now do a mix of two of those!

I found the Morrisby assessment very helpful, at least for my kids. When my son took it in Year 12, he was initially uncertain about his career path, considering my suggestions of pharmacy, veterinary, and dentistry, but he wasn't convinced. After completing the Morrisby assessment, he decided to pursue quantitative finance, which involves mathematics and statistics. Similarly, my 15-year-old daughter recently took the assessment and was undecided between a career in healthcare or geography. Morrisby confirmed that healthcare would be a better fit for her based on her abilities and personality. My daughter also loved comparing her ability chart to her brother's.
