They can no longer fund my studies :(

I had a feeling it would happen!
I am currently on a 2 year training program. I’m almost done with year 1 and have received great grades so far! I am expected to make the next and final payment in September so I can complete the remainder of the course.
It’s expensive and even after a discount from the uni, it’s not something I could have afforded. So I applied for a sponsorship and after a long 3 months of interviews and applications etc they funded my tuition for year 1. I was told I would have to reapply for my second year but this would not be an issue and a is a “guarantee”. I remember asking what if I don’t get it the second year? They said it’s never happened as you get put on a priority list if they did a partial payment so they fund your whole learning. Great, so I thought …

I contacted them regarding the application for this year and just heard back. They are not sure if they running the program this year! They are awaiting a final response but said it’s quite late in the year and usually it’s running by now so they can’t make any promises / seems unlikely.

I’m gutted. I know I am lucky to have had the first year paid for but without completing it, I won’t receive the qualification I’m working towards. I’ve tried to see if I can self-find but not something I can do right now. The past 7 months have been tough juggling work, studying and raising Dc but every time I got a result back or good feedback, it’s felt so worth it. I still have exams and observations coming up and feel sad knowing I’ll be putting hours in but won’t be continuing in September :(

Just waiting for it to sink in. I know it’s not the end of the world and I’ll have a new dream soon enough, just disappointing nonetheless!

What level is the course?

Did they say when they can give you a definitive answer by? Is there anywhere else who might offer sponsorship that you could apply for? A loan from parents or the bank? It sounds like such a shame to have to pull out when you are doing so well.

Are you eligible for a student loan?

Is there a professional body for the profession you are working towards. Sometime they have bursaries or funds to assist in course payments.
Have you tried the bank or credit union for a study loan?

How much is the second year? Could you fund with a loan or interest free credit card?
