Hi all,

I ordered my mum a birthday gift from eBay 2 weeks ago and still hasn't arrived.
Went to track it and I have realised that my phone has autofilled my address.
The house name, street and town are correct and are my mum's but the postcode is mine (I live 100 miles away).

I've no idea what to do. Apparently it was sent royal mail tracked. All the royal mail tracking says is delivered. Doesn't say where, or who to or if it went to a sorting office? So...will it have gone to my local sorting office as it has my postcode? Is it worth calling them? Trying to message the we to ask if her return address is on the parcel but seems to be an error with eBay and won't let me send a message and apparently my account is suspended for some reason (maybe trying to login too much).

Not sure what to do, a bit stressed as it cost £50 it must be somewhere!

Sorry when I say it autofilled my address, I mean it's my mum's house name, street name and village and my postcode (100 miles away).

So you've checked with your mum?
Have you actually got the Royal Mail tracking number?
Google if they use they use the postcode or street name.
It could have gone to you postcode (thus your street but your mums house number in your street.
Knock on the house number in your street and ask?

Hi, my mum definitely doesn't have it. I does have the tracking number but all it days is "delivered" usually it gives details of recipient or states what sorting office it went to but it doesn't.
My street is just house numbers whereas my mum's is a house name (a rare one), so i can't imagine the post person would try to deliver it in my area.

The parcel will be sent to House Number Postcode.
If your DM lives at 7 The Street AB1 2CD, and your postcode is EF3 4GH, Royal Mail will try to deliver it to 7 EF3 4GH.

Ah but my postcode only has house numbers. No name. My mum's house is a name and doesn't have a number.
For instance I live at 24 Blenheim Court, Newport. NP26 6HL
My mum lives at Rose House, Spring Gardens, Carmarthen. SA56 3NG

And I've input the address as
Rose House, Spring Gardens, Carmarthen NP26 6HL

So assume it is sorted by postcode and will come to my area but I think local post people will instantly know it's not a town/village around here. Is this likely the case? Should I contact my sorting office as it has my postcode?

Try this Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/338396556236740
Lots of posties on there and they're very helpful.

Hi feel free to pm me as I'm a postie, but parcels usually machine sorted by postcode and then by hand after depending on if it went through one of the superhubs so it may have started at your sorting office where they went well that town isn't here and been sent back through the system - feel free to send me a pic of the tracking. It definitely wouldn't get delivered to the house number that matches the postcode if the street / town was completely different!

@GreenLadybug thank you so much. I'll pm you shortly
