Work Summer Party

I need to organise a work summer party for 20 people. We're from all over the UK, but we want to focus on a fun day in London. We need a fun activity (not team building) that we can all do (ages vary) and then maybe a nice dinner somewhere (riverside would be nice). I've only been to London a handful of times, so I don't really know where to start. Apparently boat parties are a no go. All ideas will be much appreciated. Thank you.

What about a trip on the London Eye and then dinner somewhere near the river? You say that you are from all over the UK so will accommodation be provided?

RandomMess · 23/03/2023 18:48

Can you find somewhere that does mocktail and cocktail making?

Treasure hunt around Covent garden? There are various companies that do them.

@WildNorthEast

The people on the massive beer bikes always look like they’re having a great time. Would highly recommend the Ghost Bus Tour, it’s great fun. A friend of mine did a silent musical theatre tour (they all wore headphones and got trashed doing it) The new production of Guys and Dolls is supposed to be awesome and immersive. You could also climb up the 02, get the cable car and then a boat up the Thames. If parliament is in recess, the HOP tour is excellent, ditto Buckingham palace. For food, anywhere along Butlers Wharf (the chop house, Pont De La Tour etc) is buzzy and fun. Best restaurant I’ve been to lately are Bacchanalia (ask for a table downstairs) and also Jacuzzi (same). For dinner with music, Ronnie Scott’s is always a winner and also Maine or The Ned for a great atmosphere. Reasonable priced hotels , try the Grange St Paul’s, or a little pricier but excellent, the Sanderson or the St Martin’s lane hotel( if you are booking early). Have a fab time!

May not be your thing, but we did a silent disco walk last year for a mates bday, was really fun, brought everyone together etc and lasted about 90mins. All very ready for a drink afterwards lol

Junkyard Golf (adults only)?

Some great ideas given. In answer to a question, a few people might stay over, but not everyone will need to. Thank you.

Life-size Monopoly is a lot of fun, Tottenham Court Road.

It's Monopoly, but with escape room style challenges and puzzles. With 20 of you, you'd be playing a room all together exclusively in four teams.

Matinee theatre show, followed by dinner.

Crystal Maze Experience in Piccadilly? Sherlock escape room in Shepherds Bush?

HereHereSheSays · 24/03/2023 08:29

We went paddle boarding along the canal to Little Venice. That was brilliant fun but appreciate not for everyone. Ballie Ballerson is fun but a bit boozy I suppose. A boat cruise along the Thames?

Floofydawg · 24/03/2023 08:37

Crystal Maze experience is really good. Have also done an organised treasure hunt along the South Bank which was great.

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 24/03/2023 09:03

I second the Crystal maze - I did that with a similar number of colleagues. Have also been to 'swingers' golf near Liverpool Street.

Also shuffleboarding is great for work events. There are a few dotted around London

I went on a corporate thing to the London eye once we had a whole "pod" to ourselves it was really good and we had drinks in there and some great photos

MeOldBamboo · 24/03/2023 10:43

Try Mr Londoner walks. We did it at our work and was brilliant. Stopped halfway for pub then went for dinner afterwards.
