Bookinstructor.co.uk for driving lessons?

Struggling to book driving lessons for ds17 because I've left it too late, everyone around us has a long waiting list. It's a massive nuisance trying to get them all on the phone too, they don't all seem to reply to emails.

Googling suggests this website called bookinstructor.co.uk

They seem to have spaces but it all seem a bit weird. They don't tell you the name of the instructor, or at least they haven't yet. I haven't typed in my credit card details yet.

Has anyone used this website? Is it okay? It seems a bit too good to be true that they can find me an instructor who is free with only 5 minutes online compared to ages phoning and emailing round.

I don’t suppose you went for it? I have the same issue. I’m worried all their instructors can’t get work because their reputation is rubbish so they join this website. Maybe try out 5 lessons to see? My son is desperate to start.

Aside fomr the numerous spelling and grammatical mistakes on their website, the first line of their T&C's says if anything goes wrong they take no responsibility. It's basically up to you to sort it with the instructor directly. This is after they take your deposit.

The company number on their website is wrong. If you check on Companies House it is for a CHESTER LAND AND DEVELOPMENT LIMITED in Poole.

Wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

No I didn't. I figured that all their instructors must be a bit shit if they had space when no-one seems to have any herw for months. And the fact that you had to pay before they gave you any details of who would be teaching you and when, the whole thing just didn't add up.

I am a qualified driving instructor. I did not register with these guys but received a message about a potential pupil which I can accept or decline. I’m assuming they get our names and contact details through the DVSA somehow as we are all listed with them to stay registered. Some of us have limited space on occasion due to recent pass rates but most of us fill them within a matter of days. I’ve just had two passes this week and am looking at potentially 5 more over the next 2 weeks so it would be unfair to assume that any instructor who might accept a student would not be very good, however, I share everyone’s concern with how this is happening with this company but I do know I’m not the only one who has been contacted and these are not the only company who do it this way. I’m not sure that I will accept a student this way though without finding out more first.

The company is so legitimate that you, a random customer of theirs, is trawling the internet resurrecting any old threads mentioning them to ensure their reputation is unsullied??? And you liked them so much you had to post twice?
🧐

I used bookinstructor and whilst they did find me an instructor the deposit does not go towards your lessons. Which was misleading. I asked my instructor about them, and he hadn’t signed up to them. But he has a lot of students who have been charged around £200.
that money just goes to the company rather than towards lessons.

i emailed them and they were quite rude saying they were clear on pricing, which you only find out when you put your card details in.
i asked where my deposit was going? And essentially they said to them for finding the driver.

so the deposit is not a deposit but rather a drivers fee. Thankfully mine wasn’t £200 but it is still a hefty finders fee.

just be aware of this. You will not see that
money again

THIS COMPANY IS 100% a SCAM. They have no intention of teaching you to drive, they want your bank details, address, etc, they will take your money and not give it back. TOTAL AND UTTER SCAM
