Can you tell how much someone weighs just by looking at them?

A colleague who is an ex nurse says she can, and got my weight right.

Nope, I am very glad to say I have no concept of what specific body weight looks like or amounts to. I think that's helped me have quite a positive outlook on my own body.

No, but why would I need to?

They seem to do this routinely in US crime dramas when describing a suspect. I would struggle to guess even vaguely accurately.

I would guess if you weigh people all day every day you might be able to guess in some cases but you can have two people who are the same size clothes that weigh vastly different weights.

My teen DS for example looks like a bean pole, he is super slim but hes a rugby player and absolutely solid, people run at him and feel like they have hit a brick wall. He weighs a LOT more then he looks.

Me & a friend wear the same size clothes, (we regularly lend each bits), she weighs two stone more then me!

I remember as a young child at theme parks and fairs they used to have a "guess my weight" game and always wondered how they did it, does anyone else remember those?
