London or nearby posh lunch recommendation for birthday lunch

Close relative is having a milestone birthday soon. His DW has been diagnosed with cancer and is having an operation around about the same time. So we thought we'd treat them to a posh lunch as both a present and a distraction in the next month or so.

Any recommendations for where's naice at the moment, preferably London or nearby, please?

They live in London and eat out at nice places a lot and it's a big birthday, so there's a reasonable budget.

Odette's in Primrose Hill is our special occasion place. It's small and cosy and the food and service are superb.

If they like steak, you can't go wrong with Hawksmoor (there are six or seven).

For really special I'd go to Le Gavroche.

Erm, I don't know which cuisine specifically.

We started off with looking at Marcus Wareing's restaurant (as I know they like the food there) but there were one or two dodgy reviews and possibly if DW isn't feeling too great (waiting for treatment, so worried more than actually feeling ill), somewhere nice but maybe a bit more intimate would be good.

We will enjoy looking at all the suggestions.

Our local restaurants are more greasy spoon as we live rurally, so it's great to get some ideas from people who actually go out in London. Thanks so much! 😊
