Surveyor coming tomorrow, do I need to do anything?

I'm remortgaging with a different lender. I've never had a surveyor come to my property before, they've always done drive-bys. Do I need to do anything? I've been away all week and my place is a mess. I'd love to get it tidy and clean but don't think I'm going to have a chance. They're not going to down value my place cos I haven't done the washing up or cleaned the loo are they?

Take it from me, the only thing a surveyor is interested in is looking for any obvious signs of structural defects, ie subsidence, damp, water damage, problems with drains, brickwork defects etc. You may get a couple of questions about the boiler certs and the electrics
You leaving the washing up is no problem.
If you left a load of cocaine on the side and a pile of porno mags it may raise eyebrows… however used syringes scattered around the place is never a good look…

The little time I've had this week is to clean away the damp patches so hopefully that's a winner. I'll put the porn mags and needles away, thanks for the heads up 😂
