What the bloody hell can I get my bf for his birthday?

He’s impossible to buy for! He’s going to sound boring AF when I write this, I promise he’s not 😂. But he doesn’t have any hobbies, apart from going to the pub and the gym sometimes. Works crazy long hours. Not particularly into any kind of band/music. And hates ‘stuff’, honestly he could fit his worldly possessions in 2 black bin liners. Earns really good money so if he wanted things he could buy them, he just doesn’t want them.

I’m paying for us to have a weekend away but would like some little token something to give him, but at this rate I’m going to end up getting some socks for him or something.

What do you buy a 36 year old man who neither wants or needs anything?

Cooking class together - online if necessary. My DH likes having baths so often I buy a selection of bath bubbles in a mini hamper.
Amusing pajamas ?

A book? An ASOS voucher? Some sort of subscription - coffee or tea or socks? Something quirky off notonthehighstreet? Good luck! My DH is a pain to buy for too :)

He doesn’t read, not really into clothes (I mean he wears them but rarely buys new ones), doesn’t cook because he gets meals provided at work then gets takeaways on the weekends. Bubble bath could be a good idea, he does like baths. He doesn’t even have a house as he gets accommodation wherever he’s working so can’t buy him anything house related!

He doesn't read? What about films?

I'd probably do something experiential, not necessarily on his actual birthday but tickets for the theatre or a gig (although he doesn't like music either..?)

What do you enjoy doing together?

An experience?

PinkSyCo · 22/03/2023 23:24

He doesn’t like stuff so why insist on buying him it? A weekend away plus a meal and drinks out is plenty surely?

SNWannabe · 22/03/2023 23:32

Sexy knickers..for you. And let him unwrap you…

Xiaoxiong · 22/03/2023 23:34

Bath pillow and over-bath tray which he can use to prop up his phone/ipad

Coravin (if he likes wine)

Airpods

Airtags for keys and other important things

We’re in a LDR so the time we get together usually involves staying in a hotel and shagging, sleeping (we both really like sleeping), watching shite on Netflix, going out for meals, or occasionally going out to something like a museum.

It sounds very boring written down like that but tbh my life is chaos and he works crazy long hours so when we do see each other all we really want to do is feel like we’re getting away from it all and chill. I suggested some kind of experience day thing but he wasn’t keen, it was too eventful he said 😂😂😂.

Cashmere. Good for travelling and sleeping.
