Air fryer - drawers or oven type? Pls help!

After months of deliberating I’ve decided to go for an air fryer. I’d narrowed it down to two with dual baskets then met my friend last night whose just bought an oven type one. Now I’m confused. If someone can tell me the pros and cons that’ll be good. Alternatively just tell me which one I need! Thanks

I was going to get two baskets but settled on an oven style one as it had a bigger capacity and i thought my husband was more likely to use it

This is the one I got. Very happy with it. I liked the rotisserie function as well but have only used it once🤣

I love my oven style one. Far more versatile than a basket

It does take about of they're worth having, which I know you're decided on already, but they also compare some models.

Thanks for your answers. @isthisit83 That tower one is the same as my friend just got! Im think the oven type one might be the way to go.

I've got a basket one and I wish I had an oven one.

www.costco.co.uk/Appliances/Small-Kitchen-Appliances/Cooking-Specialty/Gourmia-67L-Digital-Air-Fryer/p/6487 we have this one I love it and you can do two layers in it

Oven.

I just don’t “get” the drawer type ones. We use ours for everything, it’s so easy and we do use it as a mini oven. It’s the largest capacity one we could get.

We have Ninja max duel with two large baskets and it's fab! It's great as you can take things out and shake them. It's idiot proof.

We can do a whole chicken in one and roasties in the other.

I find the Chuck it in mentality So much easier than trays etc. probably just me!

Drilldrill · 23/03/2023 07:30

I have a ninja max dual drawer and love it. I can set the 2 drawers to completely different functions, temperatures and times giving me for versatility. I’m not stuck with just one temperature for everything as I would be in an oven style one. I can even bake a cake on one side and cook a chicken in the other

fruitandfibreg · 23/03/2023 07:32

I have the dual ninja and I love it. In 3 months I've used my oven once and that was to cook a pizza because it didn't fit in the drawers.

We have an oven style one which is perfect for us, especially for cooking beige freezer food/ oven chips etc. directly on the trays. It's not so good for some things though, such as homemade chips (we had an actifry before that was excellent for this).
We are seriously considering getting one with drawers as well. It feels a bit extravagant, but I think we'd get use out of both for different things.

What are the pros and cons of basket vs oven style?

Maddy70 · 08/10/2024 15:25

Drawers....so much easier to clean

isthismylifenow · 08/10/2024 15:44

I have the original Phillips from when it first came out many years ago, which is the basket one.

I like that I can take it out to shake it it, or to turn whatever is in there. And it goes right into the dishwasher.
