I’ve posted this before under ‘women’s health’ but didn’t get any responses so hoping for more traffic here.
TMI warning - it’s a question about periods / bleeding.
I’ve currently got a contraceptive implant, which has only got a few months left before it’s due to be replaced (it was fitted nearly 3 years ago). I’ve had very regular, predictable periods the whole time I’ve had it, and before. I know this isn’t the case for everyone, but it has been for me, up until recently.
Since my last ‘normal’ period (almost 4 weeks ago) I’ve had light irregular bleeding. It comes for a couple of days and then goes for a couple of days before coming back. It is very very light, mostly just a bit of pink when I wipe. There’s only been one day where there’s been enough to need a tampon, and even that was less than a usual period.
Has anyone experienced similar?
Is it maybe a sign that the implant is running out early?
Is this worth getting checked out, or does this sound fairly normal / ok?
