Civil service job applications

How long does it typically take to hear back about a job application? I put in for 4 jobs recently, one of which was a civil service post, all with closing dates of 3rd March. 3 posts I got interviews for (they have been and gone) but the civil service post is still in a pending stage on the website. Is this normal? How long typically do you have to wait from the closing date to hearing?

It can take a while. We are really busy and it takes time to sift and score, get together to review etc. I promise we aren’t just sitting around!

Ages. Weirdest and worst recruitment process I've ever done. It's ok once you're in the job but this part is draining. Takes months to go through the checks once you're offered too. It's very frustrating.

I recruit into the CS! PO are correct I'm afraid.

Stay strong, stay patient and good luck.

3rd of March! LOL that's like two minutes ago in CS timelines. Took me 8 months to get into post.

It can take a while, I recruit for my dept and sometimes it can be a while before the panel can get together to do the sift. I do try to front load to avoid delays to candidates but with the best will in the world sometimes it does get delayed. However can depend on how many applications are received recent example was 218 applications for 7 posts the sift took one week and interviews over 5 days. But all dome within 4 weeks of advert closing. Hang in there you'll hear back shortly

I waited two weeks for the job to close, two weeks to hear back, had the interview two weeks ago, told I passed interview but they were still interviewing then needed to do allocation and offer and still waiting 😬

Absolutely ages - I interviewed for my current job in July 2019, was offered the post in August 2020, but it took until January 2020 to start.

Initial sifts can take a while, unfortunately, and the CS isn't known for working at regular speed.

Ours is quick but we don't get tons of applicants. The 3rd was a Friday so doesn't count. They'd need a few days to sift and another to kick around a portal.

I'd have expected to hear by 15th. But I also know people enter into the portal thinking it is fine but something was wrong or a field was missed so it gets kicked back and then they are on leave.

Happened to me the other week but I check emails on holiday and sorted it. 🫣

Give it another week and then email them nicely.
