Councillors intimidated after sex education debate

First MPs need extra protection, now it seems so do councillors. Police being called into meetings is this a rarity or a sign of the times?

It's quite a scary time for people in public life. Most people you encounter are fine but there's not much consideration given to the safety of councillors, in particular. There is still an expectation that you publish your home address, there's a lot of lone working and obviously no staff (like an MP would have). There was a recent survey of councillors in Wales and levels of abuse both online and off were noted.

@WelshNerd yes I've always thought it odd that the home address is still published. Our assembly member was a councillor once has never moved so everyone locally knows where she lives.

Can't help feeling that the past few years have altered people for the worst
