Octopus saver sessions

Hi, I've just joined octopus and took part in a saver session last week, it says it's still calculating.
How long on average does the result take.
I'm unlikely to get much out of it cos my energy use it tiny already, I'm just curious and impatient Grin

It’s usually about a week.

Don't worry, the novelty will wear off. Grin

I think they have to wait for data from the National Grid, that's the excuse they give anyway.

You're right about the saving not being worth getting excited about. I've done all the sessions, reduced my electricity usage on all but one of them, sometimes up to 90% reduction when I sat in the dark on my laptop running on battery, and even turned the fridge freezer off and, including all the bonuses for doing repeat sessions, this has built up to a credit of, wait for it, £8.65 for the 11 sessions that have a result - just need to add the last one which was last Wednesday or Thursday I think?

Although some people report saving £10/20/30 in a session, but I assume that's those people who are in a never ending cycle of showering, washing the towels, tumble drying them and at the same time cooking up a feast for 6 teen boys in multiple ovens, that said teen boys eat while attached to their gaming PCs wearing plug in heated throws. Then the savings session kicks in and they all sit in the dark playing board games instead.

Absolutely!
We had the fridge/freezer and WiFi running.
Kids LOVED it.
Running around with torches. Playing card games by candlelight.
I'm sure the novelty will wear off but it was quite fun!

They were unable to calculate my first saving so awarded me the average saving of......£1.20.

Cassiusclay · 20/03/2023 12:58

Oops no, just checked and it was actually a whopping £1.04.

YorkieTheRabbit · 20/03/2023 13:32

It’s always taken a week for ours to be calculated, I think we’ve a total of around £75 so far.

Still waiting for my last one to update.

So far I've "saved" a massive 2.3kwh over 11 sessions (inc one where I saved nowt, another where they estimated my saving, and a £3 credit for missing points) and got just over £10 in savings and bonus streak points, which is fine with me.
