Jeans that fit tall slim young teen boys?

Can anyone help in my quest to find my 13yo son some jeans? He's grown tall, but still quite slim, so everything falls off him or looks silly with the waist all bunched up when those elastic bits are pulled tight enough to hold up... Or else the legs are too short.

I've tried H&M, M&S, Next... Everything gets sent back. I'm sure there must be somewhere out there that caters for this age? He's not super tall yet, I guess 160cm, but waist size still tiny...

Thank you!

I've had the same problem with my sons. Try River Island mens, I was able to get some from there which fitted them perfectly.

My 13 year old is wearing Next Men's jeans with a belt. He's wearing a 30 Regular and is 175cm tall. Not all of the men's jeans go that small, you have to check each colour/style.

If you're buying according to his age, you'd be better going into men's sizes and going by waist and leg measurements.

He also has trousers from decathlon and shorts from clockhouse.

M&S with adjustable waist. DS wears jumpers or a jacket so you don't see the bunched up part.
Trussardi Junior jeans. They're great but expensive so we got them from TK Maxx.

Next worked for us for a while, check out different styles as pp suggested.
Boden & Joules do trousers that fit but not sure about jeans as he doesn’t wear them much now.

Good luck, it’s a pain to find clothes that fit slim tall boys.

frippit · 20/03/2023 11:01

Believe it or not my tall skinny son could wear primark 34 inch leg jeans in mens sizes. Cheap and good quality, other than that river island and topshop did small mens waists and long leg, often the cheaper sizes in sales too. Also surfer makes like o'niell are a good skinny fit.

Slaistery · 20/03/2023 11:02

go for men’s jeans in waist/leg combo. Next generally good. Hollister if you’re feeling well off

MillicentTrilbyHiggins · 20/03/2023 11:03

Slim DS' best fitting jeans are Primark skinny jeans. 28 waist, I think 30 leg. (He's 5ft 8... maybe 9)

mushroom3 · 20/03/2023 11:07

vertbaudet worked for my son as they have styles with narrow waist and hips. At 6ft4 he still has a 30/31 waist! Next are good for tall skinny older teens and men as also they do extra long length

PaddingtonBunny · 20/03/2023 11:16

Brilliant! Thank you all - this is just what I needed. I am going to work through this list!

I have a similar problem: DS is 5'10" with no waist to speak of. Primark's boys skinny jeans in age 15-16 have hit the spot, and I've just discovered Levi's skinnies and slim fits in ages 14 and 16 which are excellent, and a relatively affordable 35 quid (by comparison with adult Levi's). But definitely try a large Primark.

Zara are good for long legs and small waist.

MissyB1 · 20/03/2023 11:26

Also New Look mens, my ds wears 28 waist 32 leg.

Mabelface · 20/03/2023 11:29

Another vote for Primark and Topshop. 2 of my boys are skinny Minnie's and not particularly tall. They've worn 26" waists, now wear 28" now they're in their 20s.

greenacrylicpaint · 20/03/2023 11:38

take him to try some in the shops.

my tall, lanky boys like uniqlo and h&m for jeans.
levis and raw are also great (but pricey).
up to about 170cm tumble&dry (dutch brand)

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 20/03/2023 11:41

Next online has a teen range and the jeans have adjustable waists. My teen is very skinny, too skinny for the waists in men's ranges but the Next teen range give the leg length with the small enough waist.

findmeonthesunnyside · 20/03/2023 11:44

Have the same problem here. Boden and Gap (and Old Navy if you’re in the US) are brilliant. Fat Face has one cut that works too. Skinny. I just got 5 pairs of Boden skinny jeans off EBay for £12. Literally look brand new. DC loves them!

TimeforaGandT · 20/03/2023 11:45

River Island worked for us

whiteroseredrose · 20/03/2023 13:16

DS wore Hollister at that age. They have several different shapes and all come in different waist sizes and lengths. If they don't have the specific ones in they will order them.

trashcansinatra · 20/03/2023 13:30

My son loves Superdry skinny (or super skinny) fit

plominoagain · 20/03/2023 13:43

5 skinny boys here - next online and holllster worked for us too

Scotsladdy · 24/10/2024 11:06

My son is 14, 5ft 11, but his waist is only 26in. Even the smallest mens jeans with a belt slide off his waist. Surely in todays age of fashion and creative minds, someone can make a pair of jeans, cargos, trousers etc, for a tall but skinny waistes teenager. Is that too much to ask for. Things that actually fit his waist, are then too short at the bottoms, riding well abkve his ankles.
