Anyone in Finchley area congestion charge and train

Hi. Been advised by a friend to drive finchley train station and park there and get the tube to London for the day. Only about 70 mins from me and be cheaper than paying on train for 4 people. Also not committed to train coming back. She is not 100 percent sure if the congestion charge falls underneath there as her car is exempt. Mine is old. Can't seem to find it on Google. Does anyone know please? Thanks in advance. She said cheap to park too.

Finchley isn't in the congestion charge zone but it may be under ULEZ. Google it and your number plate. Old petrol cafes are ok, diesel aren't.

When are you going? ULEZ extension doesn't start until the end of August so before then you will be fine as Finchley isn't in the current ULEZ area

Why does it have to be Finchley? Parking is easier at High Barnet (usually) or Totteridge, and they are definitely not in the ULEZ.

Depending where you are coming from if you are planning on driving to Finchley you may go on or across the North Circular so if your car isn’t ulez compliant it will cost £12. Areas need the tube stations in finchley are resident permit parking there may be some stations with car parking (which guy will need to pay for

Hi. Will be coming from the Midlands/Warwickshire area. Finchley Station apparently has parking.

Cockfosters tube station has a large car park, I know many who drive there to go into London.

Totteridge is just as close. Thanks for that.

Be careful because there are different Finchley tube stations: East, West and Central

I assume you mean Finchley Central which is outside the North Circular (current ULEZ boundary til August) and I believe has a carpark?

Also don't get the congestion charge zone (central area of London only, but payable by ALL cars) mixed up with the ULEZ low emission zone (which is out as far as the North Circular Rd for now but is set to be extended outward in August) - this is for higher emission vehicles only.

Thanks again Welshwonder, I checked the reg and postcode against ULEZ low emission zone and think be ok. As a previous person said I think August this will come in to effect for this area. Going July so should be ok. Yes i mean Finchley Central.
