Tell me about your mattress

We need to order a new one.

Budget 1k.

We've never actually bought one before, always having inherited the mattresses off my mum's spare room as she has upgraded over the years.

Anyone LOVE their mattress?

We bought the Eve but it was SHIT and wrecked my back. I had a budget of £600 and the best one I tried was the IKEA one for £300. I've slept well every night since and my physiotherapist has commented on how my back is getting better

Our Hypnos is being delivered tomorrow! I'll let you know in a few days time.

We spent a fun afternoon trying out mattresses in a furniture showroom, and taking advice from the salesman.

I’ve just bought an amazing hybrid mattress from Amazon! It’s so deep and really lovely quality for the price.
Vesgantti brand.

We adore our Tempur mattress and it was about that price point. We have the medium firmness one and it's wonderful.

We have the ikea one too, I really like it, nice and firm and has lasted very well so far (18m) but I do have a topper on it too as I get hip ache...

trickyfriendsone · 19/03/2023 20:13

@Lovelynondriver which Ikea one do you recommend?

FawnFrenchieMum · 19/03/2023 20:15

We have the Simba and love it. We tried the OTTY at their showroom first snd that was too firm for us.
We’ve had it about 9 months now and showing no signs of dipping etc.

Lovelynondriver · 20/03/2023 07:11

@trickyfriendsone it's called the Valevag x

Knullrufs · 20/03/2023 07:18

Mine was more than that but I recommend the principle — two single mattresses zip-linked to make a big bed (in my case an emperor size).

I’m a jiggly sleeper and having the separate mattress means I don’t wake DH up when I thrash around.

We have a topper and a protector on top to make it feel and look like one bed.

Not sure if they are in budget as I bought ours a while ago but rather than paying a fortune to a sales driven mattress shop have a look at John Ryan handmade mattresses. The most.comfortable thing I've ever slept on.
