We liked it! I say stick with it.

KillingMeDeftly · 19/03/2023 18:23

The movie itself is only ok but I found Austin Butler's performance astoundingly good and thought he inhabited the character without imitating him, if that makes sense? It's quite a visual feast but Baz Lurhmann isn't to everyone's taste.

Redpriestandmozart · 19/03/2023 18:25

Was never an Elvis fan, and don't watch many films but I loved this. I thought the end was very well done. Then again I am no film critic.

Couldn’t stand it and gave up half way through. Not enough story for me. Too much stylised music / stuff.

scrivette · 19/03/2023 18:26

Stick with it, thoroughly enjoyed it and the acting was amazing. Interesting story too.

Longingforthesummer · 19/03/2023 18:26

Will keep at it a bit longer

We liked it, not amazing but good. Stick with it

ComeOnYouSummer · 19/03/2023 18:27

Stick, stick, stick, I think it’s a 10/10 film. Films about musicians are my thing.

VestPantsandSocks · 19/03/2023 18:28

I watched 25 mins and gave up. So disappointed as I had really been looking forward to it 😕

Tinytigertail · 19/03/2023 18:28

I loved it, but I really enjoy Baz Luhrmann's cinematography. I also thought that Austin Butler was amazing.

loverrr · 19/03/2023 18:28

I loved in at the cinema, stick with it!

Roselilly36 · 19/03/2023 18:28

I loved it, great film.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 19/03/2023 18:30

I love it, one of my favourite films in years. You do have to like Baz Lurhmans style though I think

Abracadabra12345 · 19/03/2023 18:30

I’ve seen it three times and am amazed at the negatives!

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 19/03/2023 18:32

I loved it & Austin Butler should definitely have won an Oscar

smurfmonkey · 19/03/2023 18:33

I watched it all, but it didn't grip me and did feel like I'd wasted an evening once it had finished. I really wanted to have liked it 🙁

Billybagpuss · 19/03/2023 18:33

i enjoyed it. Not in the same league as bohemian rhapsody or yesterday but will probs watch again

HollyBollyBooBoo · 19/03/2023 18:37

Terrible film and I'm a massive Baz fan.

DevantMaJardin · 19/03/2023 18:41

Sack it off and watch the Liza Schlesinger sketch show "stick with it" episode instead. Now that's worth sticking with 🤣

DevantMaJardin · 19/03/2023 18:42

*Iliza c'mon autocorrect!

billyt · 19/03/2023 18:48

Life is too short to waste time watching this drivel.

Sorry, but it's a crap film.

Cherrysoup · 19/03/2023 19:27

Awful, imo. Poor Austin bloke was wasted, it could have been a really decent film, but the cartoon like Tom Hanks ruined it for me.

smellyflowers · 19/03/2023 19:28

I gave up on it

LubaLuca · 19/03/2023 19:32

I enjoyed it. I watched it on a flight so was maybe in that captive audience state, but I thought it was engaging.

awaynboilyurheid · 19/03/2023 19:39

Totally agree, I’ve watched probably the first half, but stopped and not sure I’ll go back now. I liked the actor who played him and I love Elvis, one of the most handsomest men on the planet, but just wasn’t sure about the film at all. Just didn’t wow me.
