Men holding flowers like Olympic torches

Why do they do it ? I pointed this phenomenon out to my husband today outside sainsburys and then at M&S - while initially he said I was being sexist he then realised I was right - every flower clutching male holding them out and aloft like ‘look at me I’ve bought flowers’ as they strut across the carpark

I was picturing them being held like the Statue of Liberty's torch Grin but I think I know what you mean, sort of arm thrust outwards?

I'm sure you're right, but i'm trying to think how else you'd hold them...

cradled like a baby?
dangle them casually like a carrier bag?
underarm like a baguette?
sticking out of back pocket ever so casually...

Yes arm extended and up high , I just carry flowers down by my side usually or if a bouquet would cradle them - it was quite funny actually as across the car park you could see them being paraded back to cars

it’s a bit like men loving to carry Victoria secret or Anne summers bags for their partners like a sign to the other man they are virile tigers on a promise
