Bit my tongue

I bit my tongue hard and although the swelling has gone down and the blood has stopped the cut is still there and flapping about. I’m talking about a 5 mm cut, nothing major but not insignificant. Because of where it’s positioned I disturb it all the time, and am scared that it won’t close and heal! Can you tell me what’s happened to you when you had it?

Oral hygiene is so important for healing. Use a salt solution as a mouth wash at least 3 times a day. try products for treating mouth ulcers. Some contain lidocaine which numbs it a bit. Try to eat soft foods so you don't have to chew too much cos that's when you might cause further damage. It'll take a few days but it will heal. I'm doing it all the time since I had a mild stroke.
