Person in question is a vulnerable adult with learning difficulties and autistic traits .
She is believing the scammers ,they have obtained money from her ,she believes them when they say her mother is against her ,doesn't love her etc .

Contact with police hasn't helped as engagement has been voluntary ,money given voluntarily .They are not interested/able to take the vicitims vunerability into account .
What on earth can be done ?

Who is the person to you? Not asking to be rude but a lot depends on your relationship with her and also what sort of scam is she falling for? If they're suggesting to her that her mother doesn't love her then what is she ostensibly paying for?

If they are vulnerable are they able to manage finances independently. Are they registered as vulnerable with the bank, since large or unusual transactions should be flagged under their Vulnerable customers policy if so. Report financial abuse to adult social care?

The vulnerable person is the daughter of an old school friend .I'm not really in touch with the old school friend but we have mutual friends that I am in contact with .
Mutual friends have been receiving odd emails from the vulnerable daughter and this has brought the business to light .

@LIZS thanks that's helpful .
