Hi, hoping for some help as this keeps bugging me at the back of my mind. Copied over from the Health topic as a tad too quiet over there
So I've been in a committed relationship since 2010. I'm as sure as anyone could be that my husband has had no other sexual partners during that time. That isn't something that is worrying me.
2017 I had my first smear and it was negative
2020 I had my first child
2021 second smear and HPV positive
2022 third smear and HPV negative
So have I caught HPV pre2010 and its then laid dormant until 2021, maybe kickstarted by pregnancy/childbirth?
Will I now not have HPV anymore and only likely to get it if either DH or I start sleeping with other people? Or is it still dormant and could pop up again, potentially causing cell changes?
I never had the vaccine unfortunately and by the point I realised I could buy it privately I was already in a committed relationship so thought it was pointless. I've pondered on and off whether it's worth getting it anyways though.
