Anyone have a samsung galaxy phone?

I have an iphone that I use as my main phone, and I was told at work that I have to start using a samsung for work purposes. I have the samsung now and one thing about it is driving me mad, I have been trying to sort it out all night, Nothing they suggest on google is working.

If I get a notification my my iphone say a message or whatsapp or facebook etc my screen will light up and I get a sound and a notification to alert me.

If I get anything at all apart from a phone call on the samsung nothing happens, The screen doesn't wake up or light up, I do not get a banner across the top saying I have a message, it doesn't make a sound and the app icon itself isn't showing a number on it to show there's been a message.

If I pick the samsung up, activate the screen myself and am using the phone then notifications show as normal and I get sounds etc. When the screen is off and the phone is on the table next to me nothing happens, I activate the screen and then get all my missed messages coming through one after the other.

Anyone have any ideas please?

If you find the settings icon (it usually looks like a cog) then go to notifications, then select the app you want ie whatsapp you can then change the settings. Alternatively, go into whatsapp and change the notifications from the settings menu.

If you can't find the settings icon, swipe down from the top of the screen so that wifi, bluetooth etc is displayed and there should be a cog in the top right hand corner which takes you to settings.

Very weird that a brand new phone would have all the notifications turned off, usually its the opposite! Perhaps you have do not disturb turned on accidentally?

You need to go into the settings and mess around with the notifications.
I have an iPhone and a Samsung and swap between the two without a second thought now. But I spent a good few weeks swearing at the iPhone when I first got it because I couldn't make it do anything 😂

If you've got power saver mode enabled that mucks around with stuff.

It can do, but you usually have to specifically switch it on.

My new S22 came with power save switched on and I had no notifications. Also sound was set to mono leading me to get a new headset as I thought one ear was broken. Fab phone when you get used to it though 🙂

Yup,settings and notifications. I use Samsung Galaxy for personal use and massively prefer it to the shitty iphone that work has given me.
