I started my first passport application last month and sent documents off. My mother was also applying at the same time so we sent the required documents in the same envelope with both application numbers under the address as I was required to send my mother’s birth certificate along with mine and she was only to send her own.
I got an email to confirm my documents were received and then days later another email asking for my mother’s birth certificate. I called to explain that they had been sent together and the woman on the phone said she would link them both up. I’ve had 6 more emails asking since then. Called 3 more times and had someone confirm they will ask them to acknowledge my mother’s certificate. Did an online enquiry but had no reply.
I’m worried about the strikes now and I’m not sure when they’ll return my mother’s birth certificate just for me to send it off again. Does anyone have any other ideas or had something similar happen?
