Does you recognise this clothes label?

I bought these trousers for dd from eBay, she loves them but they’re too small and all the other black jersey trousers I buy are too scratchy or too flappy and she won’t wear them.

Does anyone have any idea which brand these are? I just need to buy the next size up (or possibly the next two!).

Waiting for @Mabelface to come and tell us what she's been drinking this arvo 😂

Southlandssue · 17/03/2023 15:39

Definitely John Lewis, possibly from their Anyday range

Got it. Vintage brand I'm afraid!

That's not it - this is it!

It's someone like Marks and Spencer. My brain went to the old Woolworths brand Ladybird and the defunct Adams chain too.

I thought Adams too! But now pp have said JL that makes more sense.

Looks like @Mabelface used google lens - for some inexplicable reason it's the first result!

Clymene · 17/03/2023 15:51

Definitely John Lewis

Because Google Lens is good at giving you a visually similar photo, it just doesn't necessarily know what part of the photo you want it to reproduce.

So it's found another photo of dark grey leggings with a label showing.

It's a computer, it doesn't know that you specifically want the contents of the inside of the label, it's also not really looking at images in that much detail.

lostfrequencies · 17/03/2023 16:09

@BertieBotts yeah sorry, I do understand the concept of google lens. I wrote what I meant to say wrong! Basically that she used google lens and used the first image in spite of it clearly being wrong.

howaboutchocolate · 17/03/2023 16:10

It's definitely John Lewis but their labels don't look like that any more, not for at least 4 years and probably longer. Finding the same pair might be tricky! You could try searching ebay or vinted.

endoftheworldniteclub · 17/03/2023 16:16

Why don’t you ask the seller?

Ignorify · 17/03/2023 16:18

I bought it years ago, off eBay. I don’t know if the seller even exists any more but it’s worth checking.

OP posts:
whynotwhatknot · 17/03/2023 16:21

if you bought it years ago chances are jl dont even sell the same anymore

have you looked at other secondhand sites

Ignorify · 17/03/2023 16:23

Dammit. I just checked and realised I used the same eBay seller as before (and got trousers that looked fine to me but which dd rejected), so it must be a change in what they stock.

I haven’t tried Vinted, I’ve never used it. I’ll see if the new JL ones work for her first as they’ll be easier to get hold of as she grows.

Dunnes Stores?

SirVixofVixHall · 17/03/2023 16:31

John Lewis.
I will see if I can dig out the same label, but it is John Lewis I am sure.

Kranke · 17/03/2023 16:39

Looks like the John Lewis Everyday range from the colour and font.

MischiefTheChicken · 17/03/2023 16:40

Definitely John Lewis, we had loads of schoolwear from them around 10-12 years ago and the labels looked like that (can’t provide photos I’m afraid as all has been passed on to younger relatives). I have more recent stuff however where the labels don’t have the pink bits so I’m thinking that’s from quite a while ago

PeskyRooks · 17/03/2023 16:42

I think it's Woolworths!

MiddleAgedAndExhausted · 17/03/2023 16:55

Definitely John Lewis - you can see the IS at the top

QuillBill · 17/03/2023 16:59

I could tell it was JL as soon as I saw the font. Blush I must get out more.
