I'm listening to a meeting and have my camera off, There was a bit of build up to the first speaker, like they were going to make an interesting announcment, turns out they aren't but I thought my mic was off and nearly shouted out to my DH in the kitchen "They've got nothing interesting to talk about again, its the boring droney cunt" THEN REALISED MY MIC WAS STILL ON 😂

Thank god I bloody didn't 😬🤐

I forget how far my blue tooth range is and my ear buds are on a band around my neck so even when Ive taken them out I've been caught out a few times, including going to the loo, fortunately it was just a colleague not a whole meeting.

I was in a very long meeting once and I was hungry so I turned the camera off, put mute on and took my laptop into the kitchen where I put it on the worktop. I put my food in the microwave and put the radio on retro and my ear buds around my neck.

Billy Idol, Rebel Yell came on I then proceeded to dance around the kitchen really giving it some, arms, hips, pulling faces mouthing more, more, more. When the microwave pinged I looked over to see that I had somehow clicked my camera back on while carrying it downstairs and there was a screen of faces watching me.

No one said anything, I am dying inside recalling it now. Blush

JESUS CHRIST.

I'd have had to leave 😲😂

When I was teaching on Teams during lockdown, one student’s (rather tubby) Dad walked across the kitchen behind her in nothing but his y-fronts. I had to explain slowly to her how to blur her background, with him stood behind her the whole time. The face to face parents evening a few weeks later was a bit awkward…

BessieSurtees · 17/03/2023 10:18

@ImSweetEnoughDarlin the toilet wasn’t so bad fortunately it was a colleague, it was a wee and she laughed about it.

The dancing oh lord, I kept my camera off for months, I can’t even remember who was in the meeting I’ve blocked it from my mind.

Pregnant and walked into lounge where DH is WFH. He always has his headphones on whether he's on a meeting or not. I proceed to tell him that my vagina is leaking fluid and I'm not sure whether it's amniotic or wee. He points to his headset and says that his colleagues now know too much about my vagina 😂I always ask now haha.

Alright down there, Mrs Baxter?”

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 17/03/2023 13:56

@DogInATent 😂

Giggorata · 17/03/2023 14:23

My very vocal old lab used to enjoy lying at my feet when I was WFH.
Trouble is, she became very demanding about having a foot on her belly and would whinge and moan at me until I did.
Then she would groan ecstatically all the while my foot was on her, worse than the most overacted porn film.
This was very distracting and cracked a few people up at meetings, until I had to ban her from the room.

BellatrixLestrangesHeatedCurlers · 17/03/2023 14:51

I didn't have a room to myself for various reasons at the start of the pandemic, so had to work from the lounge. My dad - who is fond of walking around without a shirt like Martin from Friday Night Dinner - realised his glasses were in the lounge. The lounge where I was having a tense camera-on meeting with someone external about something we disagreed on. Cue my half-naked dad wandering across the background whilst I desperately stared at the other participant's video and willed them not to see the very obvious topless man bumbling around behind me.

Up until recently I taught in a university. One class was taught over Zoom and the format was short lecture, then students went into breakout rooms and I worked my way around each breakout room to answer questions about the assignment, etc.

A few weeks into the semester (so the students were used to the format and knew I could appear at any moment!), I dropped into one room and heard a student bitching about me. I let them finish before I made my presence known and their face was a picture - I've never known silence to be so loud Grin

I think the key is always to remain in professional mode when you are attending a work meeting remotely-so no conversations with someone else in the house and no bad language.

Great insight 😂

Would've loved to see their WhatsApp group chat later 😂

I was on a zoom call and needed to fart.

I muted myself and absolutely let rip. Then I unmuted myself again.

Except I didn't.

I actually I UNmuted myself to fart and then put myself back on mute. Like everyone needed to hear it as my contribution to the meeting.

LadyWindermeresOnlyFans · 18/03/2023 10:01

@FebruaryWhining I am WHEEZING my god!!

BessieSurtees · 18/03/2023 10:51

@FebruaryWhining oh god that is so funny not least because that would sum up how I feel like contributing to some of the drivel in meetings 💨

Oh my life 😂😂🤣🤣 that's so funny

Needhelp101 · 18/03/2023 11:35

Properly in tears at some of these. @FebruaryWhining has just about finished me off 😂

NoTouch · 18/03/2023 11:44

I was on a zoom interview once with the candidate, my boss, and HR.

The woman from HR must have thought she was on mute and let out a huge long fart loud enough she became the active speaker. The shocked open mouthed O expression 😮 on her face that split second when she realised was so hilarious I had tears streaming down my face while trying to retain my composure.

To make matters worse for her the interview was recorded for 2 key managers to watch later 🤣

WetBandits · 18/03/2023 11:54

Not a Teams call (never had any close calls yet, fortunately!) but I was WFH triaging patients and my dog wandered up to me, scream-yawned down the mic and then walked away again. Luckily the patient found it funny but I was mortified because it sounded like I was just screaming at her 😂😅

Clarabellawilliamson · 18/03/2023 13:36

These are so funny! I was online teaching from home during covid, year 9 science. I muted myself to go and shout at my own young children to be quiet.... only I didn't. Came back to lots of messages in the chat from students say "Miss- we can hear you! You're. It muted!"
Could have been a LOT worse but it was very embarrassing!

Clarabellawilliamson · 18/03/2023 13:40

I also had a year 13 boy (so age 18) wait until all his classmates left the call, then ask if he could switch on his camera because he had something he wanted to show me.....he was being SO shifty, saying I would like it etc.... I reminded him I was recording for safeguarding reasons (which we later had to STOP doing, for safeguarding reasons?!)

Anyway, he switched on his camera to show me the new born baby chicks he had hatched in his incubator! Totally not what I was expecting!Grin

DogInATent · 18/03/2023 13:48

In case anyone hasn't realised, Zoom has a Press To Talk feature. Keep yourself on mute and press the Space bar when you want to say something (or share a fart). Might be a safer way to use Zoom for some people!

AdoraBell · 18/03/2023 14:03
