long do you keep it for?

I mean that kind of thing where you find a bit of plastic that has obviously broken off something, looks like it could be repaired but you have no idea what it was from?

I've got a few of these and I'm scared that if I throw them away, the minute I'll do I realise it was the lynchpin holding up the hole house or something.

I've got one that looks a bit like the switch off an old fashioned kettle but is not that colour. What is it?

Anyway do you bin straight away or keep it for a while to see if it's absence makes itself known?

I keep them for about a year then bin the day before I find out what it was.

Post a picture of your not a kettle switch, maybe someone will recognise it.

Ha! @Aposterhasnoname that's what troubles me.

I have four of these things currently on a window sill in the bathroom and they look at me aggressively every morning. They have all been there since lockdown so I'm coming to towards the idea it's time for the bin because I've obviously not used whatever it is.

there used to be five but one turned out to be a clip from the dishwasher runners (in case anyone has one of those)
