Olio - have you noticed a change?

I’ve noticed a lot less being available on Olio recently. Has that been the same in your area?
I wonder if it is because more people are needing to buy reduced items, meaning there is less for volunteers to collect.

Still loads in our area. There are a couple of people who work in the different supermarkets near us and they list all the reduced stickered stock, but it’s always late at night & always use by the date listed. I imagine they must get left with a fair bit of it.

I’ve listed a few things in the past but tbh it’s always so much hassled that I’ve ended up wishing I hadn’t bothered.

I agree with you on the Olio hassle. I had quite a bit of food and fruit juice to offer but Olio made it so difficult I put in on FreeCycle instead.

I’ve found olio efficient when I’ve got stuff to give away, but I couldn’t be bothered to do the whole collecting-from-a-shop-and-advertising business. It’s a big job.

I collect from a local Tesco and have found there're less items lately. It's good because there's less food waste. I do love seeing people who need food coming to collect from me, no questions asked

I know a few people who collect to distribute and then keep the whole lot. I was sure that isn’t correct practice but I feel everyone is more in need at the moment.
