In a cafe and the people on the next table have taken me on a lovely trip down memory lane!

I don't know how old they are - in their 70's maybe.

They were talking about the early days of tv, and how there were only a few channels, and how they tuned in without fail for the news.

Then they moved on to old programmes - I Love Lucy - and digressed to talking about Desi Aranz. One of them used to love watching Citizen Smith - the others didn't know what this was so he was trying to explain but kept laughing. They were talking about an icon with silver hair who looked wonderful but I didn't catch a name!

Now they've moved on to shops which have closed down and where they used to be, and the churchyard you could walk through to the police station, and the first supermarket. It's fascinating and I hope they're not planning on leaving any time soon!

His favourite character was the mother in law apparently!

I used to work with someone called Wolfgang, Wolfie for short, and I always used to want to call him "ooh Foxie!" In the mother in law's voice

I'd love to be called Wolfgang! They've gone now sadly, but there are two women talking animatedly about yeast.

I’ve been fitted with hearing aids, they’ve brought People Watching to a whole new level. They connect to Bluetooth and I’ve downloaded an App which lets me control the sound levels etc.There’s a Restaurant setting on the App, it filters out background noise
, it switched the rear microphones off-but if I don’t use the filter, I can hear everyone’s conversation.
