I like Pikmins 3; it’s about cute little creatures doing jobs for you when you invade their planet and then they eat bugs to turn them into more Pikmins. Might be problematic if you think too much about it but it’s cute!

Also Mario Odyssey is really good; Zelda is amazing - hard ish to get into but then great when you’re in it.

Minfilia · 15/03/2023 10:28

Animal crossing and Stardew Valley are great for solo play.

Mario Party Superstars is a great family game.

Super Mario is also a classic for families.

Mumof1andacat · 15/03/2023 10:39

Animal crossing is lovely 😍 I like two point hospital (if you ever played theme hospital or theme park it's of a similar genre) my son likes miitopia. He's 10yrs

Soubriquet · 15/03/2023 10:45

I have two point hospital and two point university on my laptop on a steam account.

Also have planet coaster, planet zoo, the Sims and a few other games

My son likes to play Cuphead and Mughead.

newfence · 15/03/2023 10:49

Animal crossing is very relaxing and rewarding. My 9yr old daughter and I work on it together. I like doing all of the tasks, earning the bells, creating the infrastructure etc and she does all of the other stuff - like talking to the residents and buying outfits and visiting other islands etc. It works well for us and we enjoy playing it together.

She has just learnt how to time travel in it to get things quicker. Not sure how I feel about that yet though!

BlueMoonCity · 15/03/2023 10:56

Animal Crossing, Legend of Zelda, Pokémon for solo play

For the Family: Nintendo Switch Sports, Mario Superstars and Super Mario Party!

I love these sort of games

NotJohnWick · 15/03/2023 18:14

Lego Marvel Superheroes is fun, and the DC like Kirby And The Forgotten Lands.

FettleOfKish · 15/03/2023 18:19

Favourites here are Lego City Undercover, Super Mario 3D world and Luigi's Mansion.

DH currently enjoying Zelda breath of the wild.

Tiny Bang Story is a nice gentle little point and click puzzle game, and if there are any 90s gamers in the house then Toe Jam & Earl is a hell of a flashback Grin

h78 · 15/03/2023 18:21

Overcooked 2 is a great game to play together adults and kids. It teaches working together to achieve a win.

VitaminX · 15/03/2023 18:40

Breath of the Wild for sure. My children like it too, but it does feature some cartoonish violence and some reasonably scary monsters so be aware. Also you need to be able to read so for children who have already reached a certain level with that (it's great for encouraging reading!).

MillicentTrilbyHiggins · 15/03/2023 18:41

Snipper clips
Piko Park.
Overcooked.

PhotoDad · 15/03/2023 18:42

Trine (and sequels) is that incredibly rare thing, a three-player game! And very funny.

PhotoDad · 15/03/2023 18:44

For adults, "The Witcher 3" is now available on Switch, although I'm not sure my eyes would be up to reading lots of teeny-tiny text. Great game though if you enjoy fantasy. Definitely 18+ rating.

SecretVictoria · 15/03/2023 18:44

If you have the online membership you can get the MegaDrive, SNES and N64 packages. Some great games, but I’m old school 🤣

Soubriquet · 15/03/2023 18:50

Thanks all. I will check these out!

@Soubriquet I've never seen The Disney one you mentioned.. would it be good for 5/6 year olds?

NovacDino · 15/03/2023 18:56

Metroid Prime remaster is really great, I'm playing through that right now. Mario and Rabbids games, Pikmin 3, Link's Awakening, Diablo 3 and Monster Hunter Rise are all great. There are loads of amazing indie games too like Nobody Saves the World, Dead Cells, Ultimate Chicken Horse, Ori and the Blind Forest (and the sequel), Moonlighter and I enjoyed the Bioshock ports too.

Soubriquet · 15/03/2023 19:04

No not really. It’s quite difficult for younger kids. My dd is nearly 10 and she needs help with it at times.

It’s more for older kids/adults. I really enjoy playing it

CoodleMoodle · 15/03/2023 20:04

Lots of the ones mentioned here (all of the Lego games are great), also Spyro Reignited, Moving Out, Unpacking, and Powerwash Simulator.

PWS was my most recent obsession, I've finished it now. Best game I've played in a long time! It haunted my dreams for awhile...
