Ongoing cough

Teen DS (14) had had a cough for weeks now. He says he feels OK, it just sounds like it is bothering him and it keeps him awake at night.

MIL is very worried about it. Keeps thinking about it and asking about it. Have I had it looked at by a GP.

Checked NHS site and it says they can go on several weeks and keep an eye for signs of a chest infection. He's not hot / fluey and find to go to school. Not wheezing or anything, doing PE.

WWYD? Get him checked out by a GP? I am thinking they will think it is OTT.

Can you go on the healthier together website? It will have a list of symptoms etc and give you advice on what to do in your scenario. Kind of like 111 but aimed at young people.

Thanks. Yes he says he is Ok, it is getting to the age where they start to make their own decisions as well.

My daughter has a constant cough, she was diagnosed with asthma by the gp.
