Laser Eye Surgery

Looking into getting laser eye surgery, and wanted to get some feedback from people that have had it done?

Ive worn glasses or lenses all my life, the convenience of not having to think about putting in lenses etc in order to be able to see would be amazing...

Whats the healing etc like after the procedure? Is it painful? I read something about having issues driving at night for about a month afterwards, is that true?

Any opinions or feedback from people who have had this done would be great, got my initial consultation next week!

I’ve had it done. It wasn’t pleasant, but didn’t hurt as they put numbing drops into your eyes. It didn’t take very long. It wasn’t nearly as bad as dental work. When I got up from the chair it was honestly like a miracle. Although my vision was a bit blurry for a day or so, I was able to drive the next day after being checked, and have never worn specs or lenses since. I can’t remember about the night driving tbh.
To go on holiday with just a pair of sunglasses is so liberating, and to wake up in the morning and not to have to grow around for my specs. Also swimming, skiing, even going to the gym is all brilliant to be able to see. I’ve saved a lot of money from not having to buy specs and lenses.
I still go for eye tests every couple of years, but my vision is perfect.
I don’t think it’s as popular as it was a few years ago. Do your research thoroughly and don’t go for the cheap options.

I had it done 12 years ago, from -6. The worse your eyes the longer the laser is on. I had discomfort for about 4–6 hours but only with eyes open so I just slept all day. I had moments of adjustment and blurriness for about 2 days after. Still perfect sight all these years later. No problem driving at night etc.

Thats great to hear you both have perfect vision after having it done, was worried that it might deteriorate and then i need glasses again anyway!

Got my appointment with optical express, seem to be the main provider for it? Totally agree that its not worth looking for a cheap option when its about your eyes...!
