Sickness Bug or Mucous?

DS is 10 months and almost 4 weeks ago he got a pretty bad upper respiratory infection. That got treated with antibiotics but his chest and cough never really cleared. Just as he seemed to be feeling better he was sick once yesterday evening and twice today. Nappies haven’t been runny. These episodes happened within minutes of eating/having milk by him coughing or choking (he’s teething atm so I think on excess saliva). He’s been happily playing yesterday and today but also quite clingy but we were putting that down to separation anxiety. Is it possible these episodes are just the mucous finally shifting? Or does it sound more like a sickness bug? DH and I have had 2 sickness bugs since having him but luckily he’s avoided it so we’re really not sure what we’re dealing with.

Ah bless him. I would treat it as a sickness bug for now in case ie not mixing for the moment but could be mucus. That tends to be at night when they're lying down tbh but not always. I'd be rigorous on washing etc in case hopefully he's feeling better soon.
