Personal injury claim

Hi Guys,

I had a car insurance claim that was ongoing for 3 years, car vs bike that hit me from behind, it was recently settled about 8 weeks ago ...2 days before we were due to attend court to settle. So they accepted the offer last minute that was offered to them almost a year ago and i was due to be paid out for my personal injury claim which i was advised it could take up to 6 weeks, I've now been told the other insurance company has gone into administration so this could be longer. i'm furious as they dragged this on for 3 years because the biker lied about the mechanism of the accident when evidently the damage was on my bumper.

Has anybody had this before where their claim hasn't yet been paid out after 2 months of having it settled? i always thought that this would be a maximum of 14-28 days, its becoming a joke now.

Sorry to read about your situation, have you tried contacting The Prudential Regulatory Authority, they oversee Insurance in the UK?

no i haven't i will look into that, the thing is i don't even know who the bikers insurance is!!

and the only response i am getting from my solicitor dealing with the claim is "as i explained the company has gone into administration so it may take longer". all i want to know is are they paying me or not or is this going to take another 3 years!

1999, I had an injury claim and the other company went into administration, not long after the claim. That took three years, as they wanted me to settle low, or give up.

All money for claims had been guaranteed, but it seems the administrators got to keep the surplus.

I hope yours will be settled quicker, as your payment has already been agreed.
